Did you play any move ? If you dont play your first move for half a minute to say , its considered you aborted the game. Since you make opponent wait but your clock is not working.
I play moves pretty quickly after the game starts
same happened to me 5-6 times already. chess.com autoaborts my games.. I start a game, make the first move and it resigns me auomatically.. after all these auto aborts I am getting the "fair policy" message.. It is becoming out of hand..
I am also having the same problem .How do you fix it.
Same here with my acoount and my sons account. Ratings keep dropping as a result. I start on time and it says I aborted the game. Happened about 20 times. Its unfair and very anoying.
Problem started about a day ago. They need to fix it.
This just happened to me too. I played about a dozen moves very quickly in a 15/10 and it said I just abandoned the game.
Is it a hack?

Bunty, after you have played a few games your rating will adjust to your actual playing strength. You can not manually change your rating.
For the past week I have been having trouble getting a game to start.The games are aborting with the message GAME ABORTED not the usual GAME ABORTED BY SERVER or GAME ABORTED BY (PLAYERS NAME). I have cleared my cache, tried the hard restart and have had this problem on MOZILLA FIRE FOX and GOOGLE CHROME I wrote tech support a week ago but have no reply , any ideas?
I'm having the problem right now - this is about my 20th instant abort. I haven't gotten any warnings, and it just says 'Game aborted' (i'm using Internet Explorer).
I joined the site about a week ago. I have had about 30 games aborted without me doing anything wrong. It messes up rating, when I can play etc. The 'Fair' rules wearnings make it look like you are a cheat. might leave the site as this is becoming a pain in the neck

Alright. I was playing a match with the easy computer. Then, all of a sudden, the game was aborted. Now, I didn't hit the abort button, nor was my mouse even close to the abrot button, so I assumed it was the computer. But why would a computer do so? This kept happening. But after 2 or 3 times, there was a warning that popped up. It said that I couldn't abort so many games. I just feel confused.
1. I didn't hit abort
2. I was playing a computer, so even if I did, it wouldn't have hurt its feelings.
3. I don't know what to do about it.
I feel that I've not done anything to insult or hurt anyone. I've never run down time on purpose when in a losing position. I've never swore or curse in chat. Can someone help?
P.S. Later on, it said I resigned against the computer after 0 moves.
