Today, I had a notification (I think 2), I clicked on them and it led me to a 404 error and when I went on their profile about half an hour later, there was the new blog that I didn't see that was posted today.

Most likely what happened is that they changed the name of the blogs so the URL changed as well; that wouldn't update the alert though. Not 100% sure the URL changes but it might.

I don't have enough friends that blog so can't really try to see what else it might have been.
