Can't complete lessons while having 7 day free diamond trial.

So I've only just signed up to this website because I've always wanted to learn how to play Chess. The thing is, I purchased diamond membership and this came with a 7 day free trial.

I have been doing the lessons, but I'm stuck at the end of the "setting up the board" chapter. It's telling me that I need to upgrade to diamond for access to lessons, but I have a diamond membership (albeit a 7 day free trial).

Is there any way for me to get rid of this 7 day trial and actually pay the fee so that I can do the lessons?

Thanks!

How are you accessing the site? If you're on the app, try logging out and back in.

I'm on the website via my computer. I don't have the ability to use a smartphone so unfortunately I've been unable to try on a separate device. I'll give this a shot though because it may fix things.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Unfortunately this did not fix my issue. I'm still getting "Want Unlimited Lessons? Go Diamond" messages which is blocking me from progressing through these.

Do you (or anyone) know if there is any way for me to just pay the fee rather than wait a week so that I can complete and learn these lessons?

I'm asking about it to see it's a known issue.

This hasn't happened to me yet

Unsure if this is relevant, but the subscription I've agreed to is the monthly one, not the annual one. When I click the upgrade now, it takes me to the pay yearly option which I can click. When I go to the monthly one, the diamond option is greyed out.

Perhaps it's doing this to entice me to select the yearly billing option?

Not the case. I've had 2 accounts on this site and I didn't have this problem when I chose monthly for my free trial

My assumption is that it's probably going to be attributed to server load in this case. I wouldn't be surprised with how many people seem to be online. I didn't realise that chess was such a big game these days! It's amazing to see if I'm honest, I just wish I started learning chess 30 years ago when my brain was able to learn better than it can today haha!

Are you for sure logged into this account C_Swords when attempting lessons? I asked staff and they said there does not appear to be an issue with the account.

If you are on the account, next step would be to try clearing your browser cache. If that doesn't work, clear site cookies. I don't think it's checking cookies for that but could be.

Another option is using incognito/private mode to isolate a cache/cookie issue.

I also learned if you try to cancel your free trail before the renewal they'll ask you if you want to double the trail for free

Thank you for asking staff about this. I am indeed, this is the only account that I've got and it's got the progress saved for where I'm up to so far with the lessons, with me checking that specifically just in-case that I was logged out from the server load for any reason.

I'll clear the cache and give another browser a shot too. Edge has long been forgotten by me so I'll dust that off and give it a try.

Thank you for your patience while helping me try to resolve this one!
