Can't Stay Online

I always check off the box on the log-in screen in order to "stay online," but for some reason this function is not working for me anymore. Instead, when I open the Chess.com website, I am required to log in again from scratch. Is there an adjustment I can make on Chess.com or in Internet Explorer 8.0 so that I will not have this problem and will be able to stay online?
