Catalonia is not a country, why a flag?

I can see where you want to get, but let us stay focus. The initial policy of Chess.com was not to allow all flags based on individual feelings, but to allow all flags currently IN USE representing a STATE ORGANIZATION, whether it is independent or not. On this basis, the Confederate flag is not in use and is not promoted by a governmental organization. Therefore, it was not allowed. However, the flags of Catalonia or Scotland, two flags currently in use and supported by a state organization (government and parliament), were allowed.

Dude, you'll be so surprised when you learn the difference between "a part" and "apart".

If you are talking to me, I know what it means... but the comment doesn't add anything to the conversation about why Chess.com allows some nations to have their own flag and does not allow others, like the people of Tibet who are legally apart of RPC, to have their own flag.

Lets add 11 stars to your flag... invade the land up north... start fighting and northern people will wrap themselves with your banner.

This has been said a hundred times on this forum. Flags on Chess.com were not initially assigned based on whether a particular region was a country or not. So it does not matter whether I think Catalonia is a country or not. From a constitutional point of view, it is not a independent State but it has its flag on Chess.com which I think is great for the people of Catalonia. However, this is unfair to other people who do not feel part of an independent State and would instead like to see the flag of their autonomous region with which they identify appear next to their name. This is as simple as that.
Go to settings…
Unlike you (you have a right to choose between the flag of the UK and the flag of Wales), I don't to get to choose. The flag of the nation that I belong to is not available in the settings.
