Cheater or bug?

I played a game with player sniperontheroof6... . When he clearly started to lose auto resign appeared, but what a surprise when the 3 mins ended he didn't automatically lose and even better, my clock started to tick while it's his move and I'm not able to do anything about. I restarted the app and the same story happened again. After restarting the app second time the game just disappeared like we never played. I made screenshots of this nonsense and I hope somebody has answer of what just happened

I would also like to complain about this auto resign feature. I just played a game where the person ibeatthemin was beaten handily after seven moves and allowed the clock to expire to 0:00 and yet the game was allowed to go on. No abandonment took place and I was forced to watch the game clock run down from 28 minutes to 0:00 to get my win. When the clock ran out the game just froze and now there is no record of it happening besides my screen shots. Very frustrating.

Oh even better! I just restarted the app to discover that ibeatemin actually won the last game due to abandonment! My screenshots can prove that I was the last player to move and that I had a working internet connection and a connection to the app since I could view his/her clock run down to zero so there was no way I was disconnected from the net or from the game. The only thing more frustrating than waiting a half hour to find out you didn't get your win is to find out that you lost instead. Chess.com owes me 20 points and to set the record straight. I would appreciate at least a message from technical support. If this is not resolved soon I may consider using another app.

I'm annoyed by this too. I've lost many times for the same reason.

Very late, but thank you for your comment.  It helps to know that others have encountered the same frustration.  These games aren't for real money, but they do cost our time, which is even more valuable in my eyes.  Overall the software is fantastic I just hope chess.com is paying attention to this kind of stuff and working on it.

Have you logged a ticket with the Support team about this via Help -> Contact or https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new? There's a good chance that they may be able to adjust your rating if they can confirm your circumstances.

I too have encountered it, specifically on the iOS app. What platform are you using? I guess it's a bug, but do wonder (and feel) if I've been cheated.

I am also a victim of the rogue auto resignation device. There is nothing you can do about it. Just watch as the game is taken from you by a cheater or whatever. I followed this catasthrope by having another game.

Though rated higher than me at 413 - l am 344, almost got to 400 in July with 397 - l checkmated my opponent. There were no problems techically which raises the possibility of the previous game being the result of cheating.

I sent a detailed report into Chess.com concerning the metter.

Auto resign has been very strange lately

No point making new complaints in a 9 year old thread.

It is frustrating when you have a good position and lose your connection. It happens to almost everybody once in a while.

Fortunately, losing that way seems to have only happened to you 4 times while you won that way 35 times.
