Chess Puzzles Cancelled

I have intermittent issues with puzzles getting cancelled after I finish the puzzle on the iOS app.
When the puzzle is solved, instead of showing the Next button, it pauses and then a popup appears with the message «cancelled» and two choices «Cancel» and «Try Again». Cancel does nothing, and Try Again just moves on to another puzzle, but with no credit for the previous puzzle.
Also, this leads to any mistakes reducing your rating, but correct solutions not registering.
I have tried reinstalling the app to no avail. It does matter what internet connection I use. These problems seem to come in clusters. I don’t really have any ideas beyond this.
My phone is an iPhone 16, if this helps.

I’ve been having the same issue recently when doing puzzles on the mobile app. I also have an iPhone. It only happens when the internet connection isn’t great. I would say that’s the problem BUT, when I switch over to the Lichess app on the same connection I have no issues. It’s really frustrating. To the point where I don’t do puzzles on mobile anymore. There were many times I would solve 2-3 puzzles in a row and receive no rating for them because each one was “cancelled”. It wasn’t always like this. Puzzles used to work fine as long as there was some internet connection. Now it seems they will only work on mobile with a really good connection.

I don’t think it’s a connection issue for me. When I play on my android tablet using the same home WiFi, I have yet to encounter this bug. It seems to be an iOS app issue. It’s really frustrating to have all these problems causing my rating to crater.

I’m having exactly the same issue on my IPhone 13 PM for a couple of weeks already. Hopefully, the dev team will fix this bug soon 🤞

Same for me, only incorrect puzzles are counted. Extremely annoying.

Yes it happens for me when I’m using data and not on WiFi

I have this issue too, on iOS. And I have a very good network, so it is not a network issue.

Ironically I also had issue making the previous comment, which failed to post on the first attempt😂

The latest update to the iOS app appears to have fixed the issue. I still get a pause after some of the puzzles, but instead of the cancelled popup, it eventually properly registers the results.

The issue is still happening for me with the latest app reinstall when I am in “collect puzzle points mode” in beta or classic. Also tried turning the VPN off but it doesn’t make a difference and happens with WiFi and cellular. Sometimes the points earned for a correct answer are retained, sometimes not.
