lol yes elephant is bishop in russian, and i have no idea why it gives you"party" instead of game
Whenever I host a party, I keep my elephant around to punch my enemies in case they show up.
I suspect what happened in the OP's game is the opponent castled long when his (the OP's) bishop was attacking b1 (or b8). That's legal. The king can't move through an attacked square when castling, but the rook can.
