connection problem

I constantly experience connection issues. I start the match and I can’t move because it’s loading. And at some point I am automatically being disconnected and loosing the game. Does anyone have the same problem?
P. s. I am playing on wifi with good internet connection, but the problem happens both wifi and mobile.

I have a “game update failed” error (for weeks now already)? Also loading problems.

Yes. Ive been getting this the past couple of weeks of mercury retrograde. It is beyond irritating! I have lost, or came close to losing around 4 or 5 games in a row due to my app disconnecting and saying i abandoned the game when it wasnt my fault. Lichess does not do this, so im just not gonna play on chess.com indefinately, or untill they get their ducks in a row with the site. Pity, i used to really enjoy playing on chess.com, but now it just makes me frustrated and annoyed

It's cool that they replenish rating points when an opponent was found to be a cheater. If they can do that, it would be nice if we could get our rating re adjusted for every time we have to take an L because chess.com claims to be the #1 chess website, yet too incompetent to keep the server running reliably

If you have games lost due to 502 errors, you can open a ticket with support with links to the games and they may be able to provide rating refunds

That said, the site has been seeing massive increases in traffic. About a week ago there were 10 million games a day. Today there are over 20 million. That's just games and overall traffic has been growing faster than expected or planned for.

Staff are working to scale things.

Other video games have reigional servers. North america east, north america west, europe, asia east asia west etc. How about get some nerds that know computers and pay em to set it up like that so we dont have a million people playing chess all at the same time

At the time that i used to play runescape in the mid 2000s, there was like a hundred different servers capped at 5000 users at a time. If chess.com can be smrt enough to figure it out i will start playin again on here. If not, bye bye

The site does have distributed servers for some things. The issue is overall traffic, not just the number of players actively playing games, and the impact on the site databases.

The increases in traffic were unexpected and apparently beyond planned growth at this point. They'll get things modified and stable, it will just take some time to get everything done.

It's 2023 and still having issues??  This site has been riddled lately with "traffic" issues.

Not worth considering when alternative sites are providing equal or better quality.

It's a new issue being caused by essentially a doubling of traffic recently, a lot more than was foreseeable or planned for.
