Constant disconnecting.
Not applicable to my question. I know what lag is, but this is not lag. I moved my piece. It showed on the screen it moved. The place it was was yellow the place it went to was yellow but then I get a message that I've disconnected and the game will abort in 58 seconds and the seconds start counting down.... It took over 30 seconds a pop once even longer before it would pop back and the other players clock would start going. If it was lag I should have seen the same lag in moves from their side as I did with moves on my side, after all the lag between my computer and the server would come into play whether it was their move or my move and it never did any disconnect stuff when they played, only when I did.

Thus far I've only played 15 games on the site. Prior to last night, I had one opponent who had connection problems, but in chat he seemed to indicate that the issues were on his/her end.
Last night I tried to play two 1 minute games and a 3 minute game. I received disconnection messages during all three games, even though my own internet connection was fine. Each time it started the countdown clock to auto-resign. The automatic resignations never happened, but I lost significant time on my clock each game while I couldn't do anything. As a result I lost in both bullet games when my time expired, and the only reason I won the 3 minute game is because my opponent left him/herself open to a back row mate when my clock had less than 3 seconds left (and they were well over a minute) - even though only 18 moves were made by each side.
While it's easy to get sucked into worrying about one's rating and win/loss record, ultimately, those things really aren't what matters here. Instead, it is the frustration that some one came here to play chess and wasn't able to do so.
I have no clue what was going on or if the person I was playing was doing something to try and win the game by running the time out. I played someone and won, no problems with lagging or anything. They asked for a rematch so I played them again. This time every time I tried to move I would move my piece and then a message that I was disconnected and would be automatically abort the game would pop up even though I had already moved my piece. It would do that and even though I was making a move in maybe 10 to 15 seconds the disconnect message would pop up and run about 40 to 50 seconds off the timer before finally going back to normal.. Never did that for the other player but it did it to me over and over until the clock ran out. I've played probably 300 games and never had the happen to me before. I haven't changed computers or anything... anyone got a clue what was going on?
