Other than that, use an ad blocker to prevent ads from taking up resources and use a quicker browser dedicated for chess.com so you don't have extra cache or extensions also using resources

Thanks. Yeah, it's confusing. I must see if it's the same on Chrome. Creature of habit, I always use Edge. Might well be the problem. When it happens, and I open task manager, there's like a billion sub-instances of Edge showing under the Edge entry. Should probably also upgrade to 11...
When I analyse a game using the in-built analysis, my CPU skyrockets, but then the CPU stays high even after navigate away or even close chess.com. Anyone find this? Doesn't happen on lichess - CPU is high there too, but then dies again after navigating away. OK, PC is quite old, but custom-built and still pretty powerful.
