On website/app...Go to settings/Board and game/Pre/Post Game Board Animation / set to off
I do not have Board and Game, I have Board and Pieces and there is no pre/post game board animation option.
From what I can see from previous posts it looks like different people are seeing different options from the web based app/site?
Nothing I do with any of the options mentioning animations is turning off the snow flakes/sparkles when I win a game. I do not get them before a game though.

Try Theme/custom metal board / neo pieces/standard background/ Enable special Themes off .. this is how i stopped mine ..hope this helps

If you're not seeing the pre/post game animation option you should contact support through the Help option in the menu

Tried that - even turned it on - refreshed and turned off again. Still no joy

I do IT support for a living - last thing I need to do in my spare time is talk to IT support 
- But I think you are right.

If i was you Zplintz i would clear all catches empty all cookies close all pages and apps and restart your phone TWICE.
