Disconnecting on live chess.

I'm playing blitz and some people just screenshot, disconnect and then they have 1 minute for themselves to think the clock is frozen and then they comeback on the last seconds and my timer for some reason get - 1 min and it made me lose a game just now too.

and thing is they can do it all they want and there's nothing I can do about it.

It's completely broken and should be fixed.

Maybe you were the one who disconnected.

Since what you described is exactly what it would look like...

Why would I report it if I'm abusing it ? 

it does sound like I know exactly how it works but that's just because I'm intelligent enough to understand what these players are doing you know?

They are not doing the screenshot thing. If you were to disconect, it would look like they are using a disconnect trick, wwhen they aren't.

This was from 2017.  I remember this. People exploited the fact the game freezes the timer if you dc and will only countdown when you're in game. So all you had to do was screenshot, dc for sometime and get a time advantage. But same goes for your opponent.
However, this was fixed since then.

Even in 2017, there wasn't an exploit like that.

The server keeps the official clocks and nothing done client side can impact those clocks. The site will forgive a small amount of lag, but when the server sends the moves to the client, it updates the clocks at that point. If you get disconnected, for whatever reason, your clock is still ticking down on the server.
