Disconnections when losing

Sort:
makman

hello to all ,

i guess that a lot of you have faced this situation ....the opponent disconnects when the game is over for him leaving you to wait 1 minute (for 5blitz players this is a long time)

if you read the messages that people are posting to these annoying members 's profiles you will see that the problem is general and ,in fact,is vanishing the site

my suggestion to site programmers is to immediatelly throw out of the game the player who disconnects . ok , i know the argument 'what about if connection really failed' and my answer is ''thats life...bad connection. can happen to anyone!''

whats your opinion guys ?

Reshevskys_Revenge

I am probably no longer going to play Blitz.  I have lost my connection too many times by no fault of my own. It's frustrating, knowing I would never disconnect on my own.

the funny thing is that you understand absolutely no point of my original post.this is not surprising me judging from the look of your face but it is really surprising me the easiness that you proceed on insulting other members of this site (calling me as ''muppet'' when uou don't even know me). being a moderator on an other site myself i ensure you that your behaviour wouldn't be allowed by any meaning to most of the sites and surelly a moderator must take care of you here.

Many of my opponents lose connection during play, and most rejoin the game. To win automatically wouldn't be fun for me. I never had connection issues until I started playing using the chess.com android app. What about this: when someone disconnects, the board position is run through the chess.com's analysis engine on super fast settings. If the evaluation from the engine shows the person who lost connection was losing by more than some set amount, the game is terminated in favor of the other player, but if the game is still relatively even, the game does not end.

WEll our honest opinion is that people who dissconnect themselves should not be one talking about "what happens when one dissconnects and what is the best course of action for chess players on this site on dissconnection related issues" and dear muppet u are a muppet, I dont have to meet you to know that ur a big muppet. Furthermore you are also a person who discriminates based on cast creed and color. i strongly advise people to not comment on his posts or his blogs...which and entirely unbecoming of normal person.

hello temetvince,

yes it happened to me too the opponent to rejoin the game but still the ammount of  people who just let the clock running is much more.

i find your idea very interesting and sure ,if can be done, is much more fair than the current state

ask a moderator to show here in public my statistics on disconnections and then come back here and accuse me. everybody can bubbling like you without arguments and just empty phrases.

still you continue insulting me and i am thinking if this is really your priority and not the subject itself.

i didn't say anything about your creed or color. that is your words not mine and as i told you ,by the look of your face, you are not surprising me that still you understand whatever you want to, but not what is really posted

So funny to see makman talk about sportsmanship.
