I'm strongly considering a paid membership, but I live from check to check on a small, fixed income and would have to pay by the month. I don't want to get an accidental overdraft.

I have a 1 year membership that is $29.95, I pay with my debit card. Chess.com does automtically renew it unless notified oltherwise.

You can send in your one-year membership by check or money order, and you wouldn't have to worry about any auto-renewal.
