Draw offer problem

I am a quite new to this site, and have just been offered a draw, but I don't see where to click to accept it.    All it says beside the board is "You have a pending draw offer."     Help!

That's the message you see when you are the one that has offered the draw.  It is pending because your opponent has not accepted or declined it, yet.

It is possible that you accidentally clicked on the 'offer draw' button, perhaps when you wanted to use the analysis board.  I know I've done it before.

My opponent asked me for a draw when it was his turn to move.     I didn't see a button saying "Accept draw offer,"     so I clicked Draw Offer myself.

The result has not been given as a draw yet.     Both our ratings are the same as when we started the game.     If I had been given the draw, I would have a slightly higher rating

You say your opponent "asked [you] for a draw," did he do this through chat?  If so, and he never actually pressed the 'offer draw' button, then you wouldn't have gotten a button to accept.

The game will be scored as a draw when your opponent accepts it.  If it is currently your move, however, your opponent may not see the offer.  If this is the case, make a move before your time runs out (make sure it is a decent move and won't lose you the game).  Then, when it gets to be your opponent's move, the draw will still be offered.  Your opponent should be able to see it and respond at that time.

It's my opponents turn to move.     No contact by Chat.      He obviously clicked Offer a Draw, and it came up at my end saying "You have a draw offer."      But he didn't make a move.     Maybe that's what has gone wrong.

How do you know that "he obviously clicked Offer a Draw?"  Is it because of that message "You have a pending draw offer?"  Because like I said, that's the message you see when you are the one that pressed the button.  It is a different message that shows up when your opponent makes the offer, and there are buttons right along with it in that case.

Can you do a screenshot so I can see what you are talking about?  Because there shouldn't be a difference in the message whether it is still his turn or not, and it is sounding to me like you accidentally pressed the button at some point.

Alternatively, we can start an unrated game and I can offer you a draw so that you can see the difference for yourself.

I got the message saying Draw offer (you have a pending draw offer)    When I couldn't see how to accept it, I also clicked draw offer to see what would happen.       I will give it a couple of days to see what happens

I originally got an email alert from Chess.com saying: "New Chess.com alert.    Your opponent (his name) offers a draw."      That's when the problem started.      I could see no way to accept the offer.     There is no Accept Draw Offer on the page where the board is, and it is my opponents turn to move.
