Ever need to resign to start a new rated game?

My opponent disconnected, his clock went to zero, but I never got the message "Game Abandoned". I waited for about ten minutes but never got the "win" window nor a button to start a new game.

I closed the browser. When I opened Firfox 3 again, the game was still stuck at 8:35 to 0.00.0. The only way to start a new game was for me to resign - thus I lost the game and a few points.

How common is this?

Very common, but it doesn't necessitate a session of Russian Roulette. Please don't go on parade with your AK 47 either.
