EXTREMELY Serious Glitch
I'm sure they're working on fixing the glitch right now, after all they are paid to ensure maximum service. And to the people who claim I am trolling, in fact, I'm helping to save this website that several of you pay for. At this point, you probably don't understand just how much I'm helping you, but when this glitch is finally fixed, I'm sure that all of the intelligent, mature adults of this site will be thanking me.

mature chess playing adults that are interested in serious CHESS do not waste their time with such absolutely trivial things such as this
I can understand why you would be frustrated with having a website intended for your age group having a chat filter. That is why I started this thread. Thank you for your support LongIslandMark.
It's clear that the majority of players believe that this glitch is tearing this website apart Fischer-Spassky style. I just hope chess.com is hard at work fixing this.
Lols. So the way to win in tournaments is just claim your opponent is swearing. I'm SURE that's a very enforced rule (My opponent said "Ballz", MAKE HIM FORFEIT.)
I do appreciate your digging up of a never-enforced never-cited rule that I've never even heard of someone forfeiting a game for. But to be fair, you play at a 1000 level, so I'm pretty sure my tournament experience is much more substantial than yours.
I know I am just adding to the troll's joy by responding, but for anyone who is really interested in OTB tournament rules, page 79 of the USCF Official Rules of Chess, under the heading of "Conduct of Players and Spectators," rule 20G speaks to this issue. If an opponent uses inapproriate language or does anything to specifically annoy a player, then the Tournament Director has the right to penalize the person by taking time off the clock, make him forgeit the game, or even ban him from the tournament. The OP doesn't know what he is talking about in reference to OTB tournaments.
+1000
Could not have said that any better. As a chess coach, one of my MAIN teaching points through out the year is having good sportsmanship and that rude language has no place in OTB tournament or chess.com (they play here regularly). The OP thinks chess.com should be run with same rules applied by some social websites.
The OP thinks that it's kind of stupid to have a chat filter in a website intended for adults, and if you're debating that point, you're bad. Like #bad level of bad.
+1 on petermh5 ... Thank you for your support. Petermh5 last login 07/14 hashtagnoob account created 07/14.
Well bad level bad has produced 4 county chess championship titles with the poorest middle school in the district. And you have done...what?
Your opinion..is just that... an opinion. The owner (Erik) of chess.com has made it plain that this a family web site and THATS WHY there IS a filter.
Where does it say that this is an "adult web" site for "adult language"?
Here.. let me help you with the rules (written by Erik the owner)

Badlms_chess, why are you bringing up accolades that neither I nor anybody else here cares about and just distracts from the main point. That there is apparently a chat filter on this website that needs to be gotten rid of. Besides, I'd shit all over you in chess... And I've only been playing like a year, so gg.
The chat filter is NOT apparent... it IS enforced and has been for years and everyone of the thousands that play here knows it, play by it and have no problem with it.
You have been here 3 day and have just discovered that... it was put in place for people..just like you :)
Dude Im done here... later.
