There is almost no reason to post on old topics and it's going to be better to find a newer one or create a new topic. Most of the time the information is no longer valid and the original posters aren't around anymore.

That said, if the content is sufficiently unique and a poster adds something constructive to the discussion, that will likely be acceptable. This type of bump is certainly not that.
