If the person you send the friend request too doesn't accept or decline when you send it to them, it will still show as pending in your list until they accept or decline.

i agree with this.
but it also happens when i make request and main hall informs me that,that player accepted my request.
to be more accurate,i made about 30 friend requests in live chess.about 20 of them accepted the request and 10 of them rejected it.but i have 0 friends from there.why is this happening?

Did those who accepted still show the accept/decline by their usernames in your friends list after it showed in main hall they accepted?
Or did they log off?
I cant find the accept button!

In Live chess, click on the tab above the chatroom where it says Friends.
Any friend requests you haven't yet accepted will show "Accept" on the right side of their username.
Or you can go onto your Friends page http://www.chess.com/home/friends.html
(Homepage, using the right side menu, click on Friends)
then, any that have been sent TO you or FROM you not yet accepted will show on the right side column of that page.
If they are TO you, you can click on Accept by the persons username.

You can receive them in a few different ways.
If you're in live chess, they will show in your Alerts tab aswell as showing that persons name in your friend list in live chess, with the word 'Accept' by their username.
Or, you get a homepage inbox message from someone asking to be on your friend list.

Look down the right side of the page, it'll show you two sections.
To Me (those are the ones people send to you)
From Me (the ones you send to others).
Simply click on Accept by the side of their username and it then auto adds them to your friend list.
when i make a friend request in live chess and the open accepts it,he never becomes my friend and when i click home/friends the friend request is still pending..
why is this happening?
