Hello, there was a problem on the chess.com platform in the game against “magnushoreg.” (11/23/2025). I was up by +17 points and had the opponent in check. But when the clock ran out, it declared me the loser and gave the win to my opponent. This isn’t normal at all, and I lost Elo points. Could you please fix this? Here are screenshots as proof. Thank you. NellyChessMate

Hmm.

It does look like you were down to 1.2 seconds one move before you timed out. Playing f5 in that position allowed your opponent to play Rh4+ move, which was a forcing move that you probably hadn't anticipated. It forced you to take the rook or move your king and used up the rest of your time.

I have no doubt that that led to a legitimate timeout. It is a real shame to lose games like that but it happens. I lose a lot of games on time too.

One thing I can recommend is to take all of your opponent's remaining pieces if you don't have time to figure out a forced mate. That way the worst that can happen is a draw. You probably had a lot of chances to fork his king and rook when you still had 30 seconds left.
