I’m new to chess.com, and I played my first game against the computer, and the completed game is not showing in archives. Does chess.com save Games against the computer?

Not automatically. You have to click save before you leave the game.

They only added the capacity to do that recently.

Подскажите почему не играет с ботами

There is no save button. I Played another game. Best I could find is “copy PNG”. I copied it to my iOS notes. There’s nothing in archives completely games.

The game has to be completed in order to save. So it needs to end in a draw, loss, or just click the New Game button +, then the save option will appear.

It was a completed game. No option.

I’m using the iOS app. Maybe you just can’t save games you play with the bots with it. If so, I’m quite disappointed.

They just added that feature on the web.  It will probably get added to the apps at some point.

Does the game menu after the game not have an Add to Archive option? The Android app does.

Nope

Yeah, my archived games stop around 4 months ago even though I've played plenty. I don't expect that they need to be bot games, since there's bot games on my profile so I don't know why they don't show up. I don't have any option to save or not save games, because I can't delete games off my profile either; I have no control over what is saved and it seems to have stopped entirely.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone knows how to find my comments afterwards. I get emails that people have responded, but I can't see the comments. I have to keep the forum page open and refresh it.

If you're talking about bot games, they don't save by default. On web you have to run a review or manually save them. On the apps, you have to manually save (I'm not sure if iOS has added the ability to save yet)

Every time I run a review of a bot game on the website it saves to the archive.

How are you playing the games? Website or app? If the latter, which app?

I use the Chess.com app. It's got to be a setting or bug. I don't expect it matters if it's wifi or data use, as I use both. I'm truly puzzled.

To clarify, you play a game against a bot and then what?

If you don't do anything else and leave the game, it will not be saved. If you run a Game Review, I believe it should be saved and if it's not, but I would need to double check with the dev team.

If you're on Android, it has never automatically saved games after a game review.

It does have the Save option in the game menu

game not saved in archive

If your game isn't saving to the archive on Chess.com, it's likely because you were playing against a computer and didn't manually save it. Games against human opponents are automatically saved, but games against computer opponents require an extra step to be saved. To ensure your games against bots are saved, you need to manually save them, either by clicking the "Save" button after the game or by running a game review, which also saves the game.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

Games against computers (bots) don't automatically save. You need to manually save them.

To save a game against a bot:

After the game ends, click the "Save" button if it's available.

Alternatively, run a game review. This will also save the game to your archive.

If you're using the iOS app, you may not be able to save bot games. The "Save" option might not be available on iOS.

Check your archive on the website. Even if you don't see the game in the app archive, it might still be saved on the website version.

If you're still having trouble, try exporting the game as a PGN (Portable Game Notation) file. This will create a backup of the game that you can save and reload later, according to Chess.com.

If you're using a third-party app like ChessUp 2, the games might not save unless you're connected to the Chess.com app, says ChessUp.

If you've tried all the above steps and the game is still not saved, you can report a bug to Chess.com support.

No, chess.com does not automatically save games played against the computer. You need to manually save them by clicking the "Save" button before ending the game or by choosing the "Save" option after ending the game with a win, loss, or draw. If you don't save it, it won't appear in your archive.

Here's how to save a game against the computer:

1. Save before exiting:

If you're still in the game, click the "Save" button before closing the game window or navigating away.

2. Save after exiting:

If you've already exited the game, you can find the "New Game" button, then click on "Save".

3. iOS App Issue:

Note that the iOS app may not have the same saving options as the web version, so you might need to use the web browser or another device to save the game.

If you're having trouble finding the save option, consider these points:

Check for Game Review: If you performed a game review, it should have been saved automatically.

Android App: The Android app may have a "Save" option in the game menu.

Contact Chess.com support: If you're still encountering issues, contact Chess.com support for assistance.

How are you playing games against bots (website or app)?

Based on the information available, you have two primary options for playing bot games and saving them for review on Chess.com:

Website: When playing on the Chess.com website, your bot games will be automatically saved to your archive if you run a Game Review or share the game. You can also manually save games by clicking "Save Game" after the match ends.

Mobile App: If you're playing on the mobile app, your bot games are automatically saved to your archive when you run a Game Review or share the game. Additionally, the Chess.com help center says you can manually save games by navigating to the "Options" menu after the game concludes and selecting "Save Game".

Important notes

Bot games are not automatically saved to your archive, so you need to take action to ensure they are saved.

If you don't save a bot game, the record of the game will be lost when you exit the screen and cannot be recovered.

You can only delete saved bot games from your archive using the Chess.com website, not the mobile app.

Yes, the Chess.com Android app does have an "Add to Archive" option in the game menu after a game against a bot, according to Chess.com forum discussions. While the app doesn't automatically archive bot games, you can manually save them using this option. This is different from the website, where bot games might be automatically added to your archive or require a game review to be saved.

Here's how to save a bot game to your archive on the Android app:

Complete the game: Finish your game against the bot, whether by checkmate, resignation, or draw.

Access the game menu: Tap the "Options" icon (often represented by three dots or a gear icon) at the bottom of the game screen.

Select "Add to Archive": Choose the "Add to Archive" option from the menu that appears.

This action will save the game to your archive on the Chess.com website, where you can review it later.
