Game that ended, was later aborted?

I played a greeter game earlier today which went 1.f3 e5 2.g4 Qh4# . Later I looked and I didn't see the game in my archive. I clicked on the link in the email I got for the game and the page that came up said the game had been aborted by one of the players.

Is that a bug?

I was probably deleted because it was so short, the system goes through periodically and removes really short games from the system.

I debated it. I actually talked to a master I know about whether or not I should go ahead and play Qh4#. I decided in the end to play it for the instructional value, and put a message in the game offering to do a rematch and to talk through that game about chess principles as they stated they are a novice. I imagine if the system killed the game that the player never saw the message so I will offer a challenge myself along with the note.
