Games disconnect with no indication, causing losses

It doesn't seem temporary at all, I'll sometimes wait 10+ minutes thinking the opponent is just going to the bathroom, or temporarily distracted. Seeing how most players at my level never use chat, it's hard to determine if I've disconnected or just waiting.

I've lost 2 games already where the opponents clock appears to be counting down waiting for their next move, I send a message asking if they're still there and will see a (resend) next to my message, I refresh the browser and it says the opponent won. This is really annoying because I have no idea that in reality the opponent has responded and is waiting for me.
