I have the same problem. I filter for a certain position in the Analysis/Explorer and it seems to be showing me all my games as white.
Games not showing in explorer when I filter by position
Yeah, I noticed similar things.
I entered the first six moves of the Englund gambit, which is supposed to list the games with that exact position.
Instead, it lists all the Englund gamit games, including Englund gambit declined

This issue started towards the end of last year. Chess.com briefly fixed it for a few days, but Explorer reverted back to showing all recent games instead of just games for a specific position. Chess.com occasionally responds to emails complaining about this bug, but they haven't permanently fix the bug.

Steven, in your final screen shot above, there is only one game listed and you didn't show the screen shot when you clicked "View all games from current position." Many of us are still getting all of our games in the history tab, even if there is only one game listed in Explorer. I also see that the one game in your final screenshot is shown as a draw. Was it? Another new bug is that when Explorer shows only one game played from the same position, it is always shown as a draw, regardless the actual outcome.
Thanks for trying though!
Deckers, thanks for taking the time to check the post. I ended up with 3 games in which the position occurred in the game history, but am now having problems reproducing it. I think you are correct that the posted screenshots are not what I thought they were. I'll delete the post and re-post when I figure out how I ended up with the relevant games! Cheers, Ste
The Explorer appears to be giving incorrect Win/Draw/Loss percentages. If I use Explorer (Play → Game History → Explore Games) and drill down to the Caro-Kann and set the colour as Black, the following screen is displayed showing Win/Draw/Loss percentages of 29/38/33 for my Caro-Kann games as Black, as below:
1)
However, if I use the Game History (Play Menu → Game History) and click on “Advanced” and set the Search settings to “Caro-Kann”, “Black”, “rated” as below:
2)
When I click on “Search”, I find I have played 72 Caro-Kann rated games as Black, as below, which agrees with Explorer in screenshot 1).
3)
But when I set the Search “Result” setting to “Won” as below to show the number of Caro-Kann games won as Black:
When I click on “Search” I find I have won 39 games, as displayed below, which is a win % of about 54%, not 29% as shown in Explorer. Shock, horror, gasp!
Which is bizarre, as you would think that if Explorer has identified all the Caro-Kann games it would be trivial to check the result of each game. So it seems that currently if you want accurate information, you should use the Game History and not Explorer.
Furthermore, on the Explorer screen there is a “View all games from current position” option as in the bottom right below.
When you click on "View all games from position", a new browser tab is launched with the URL:
https://www.chess.com/games/archive/ste161803?fen=rnbqkbnr%2Fpp1ppppp%2F2p5%2F8%2F4P3%2F8%2FPPPP1PPP%2FRNBQKBNR+w+KQkq
The part after "fen=" is the FEN (notation) string that identifies the Caro-Kann position being searched for amongst my games. But this is being ignored and so a list of all games is shown instead on the Game History screen. So, in fact, the same screen is shown for the above URL and the above URL with the FEN chopped off, namely:
https://www.chess.com/games/archive/ste161803?
For example, the following URL should display my Caro-Kann games played as White:
https://www.chess.com/games/archive/ste161803?color=White&fen=rnbqkbnr%2Fpp2pppp%2F2p5%2F3p4%2F3PP3%2F8%2FPPP2PPP%2FRNBQKBNR+w+KQkq
But the Caro-Kann FEN is ignored and the above URL just displays the same as the following URL i.e. ALL my White games
https://www.chess.com/games/archive/ste161803?color=White
That's why people sometimes see all games listed and sometimes see all White games listed - the FEN is being ignored, but the Game History can handle some parameters like color=White.
So how did Game History produce the list of Caro-Kann Black games in screenshot 3)? Well, the URL for that was:
https://www.chess.com/games/archive?color=black&gameOwner=my_game&gameType=live&opening=Caro-Kann-Defense&rated=rated&timeSort=desc
So it uses the parameter "opening=Caro-Kann-Defense" not an FEN for the position 1.e4 c6.
Conclusion
For information about opening win/draw/loss percentages use the Advanced Search in the Game History and arithmetic. And given most players on here, myself included, are beginner level, we should probably just be doing puzzles, playing live games, and analysing games anyway and not worrying about openings
So I want to see all the games where I faced the Caro Kann in the position:
1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5
but only one game appears, even thought I've had many in this position including one in the past couple of days (which is definitely in the database).
Am I missing something?
