Why has chess.com been so MEAN as to disable the get png option in the classic page?

I doubt they did intentionally. It probably just broke when V3 was made the default.

Nah, come on. Everything else still works. They are trying to force people to the new, ugly, site.

It WAS the best site.

But not now they have started disabling parts.

If you still use V2 and click on "Get PGN", you have seen the message that the pgn download functionality is no longer available on V2.

You slowly start breaking things in the old site so that people have no choice but to switch over to the new site to access those things. It's a pretty well known tactic to make stubborn users move to the new iteration of a site. I think it's working pretty well, go Chess.com
