Gift membership issue.

My friend was going to buy me a 1 year platinum gift membership. This was supposed to be in addision to my current membership which I pay monthly.  When he got to the checkout page, it said I already have a membership so it would add 7 months to my current when it was supposed to be 1 year.  How do I fix this?

Same, a friend said that he would buy me a 1 year platinum gift membership. He said that he bought it, but there was an error with the gift membership. His account it now closed.
