Well it used to be automatic here in "live chess" it happened many times to me...? Otherwise I did claim the draw but my opponent refused every time. Just for the record, we are all playing chess with the rules of chess not our own. In tournaments all over the world when you reach a stage of threefold repetition it's a draw. My opponent refused the draw by agreement therefore I refused to stop checking, that's why the rule of threefold repetition exists, You never watch GM's play? If chess.com decides to change the rules then it's not chess anymore. Since there is no referee to our game the software should put an end to the game for threefold repetition, just like it does for stalemate. It's not my first time in "live chess" it used to end the game before. This is not normal, it makes no sense, if we both have an hour to our clock or let's say the game has a 10 seconds incrementation, we are going to play forever? You should probably read the rules of chess to then. This is irrelevant!? I don't know why it changed here in "live chess" probably another update, but I have games played here where the game ended after threefold repetitions with a draw and without any agreement whatsoever. The purpose of all this is to fix the issue, not to argue about what should be and what should not, it's not about suggestions here or your feelings about the rules of Chess. The rules of chess are established, you all know them, but if you care about chess at chess.com, we must fix the issue. I play real tournaments and I can tell you, the threefold repetition rule is not optional, if it was then you should probably ask your opponent to tell you what moves you should play during the whole game. Hope this helps ...
Kind regards

If you've got repetition, keep clicking the draw,button even if your opponent is declining it. On the third instance of repetition it will end in a draw.

Wow! Thank You Baddogno... I got your link and it says it all. This is really really helpful congrats! This does answer my question! If I only knew... amazing...
@shadow_47
I don't think anything has changed that I've noticed in my time on here. A more likely scenario is that when, in the past, the computer automatically assigned a draw for 3-fold repetition, it was in fact your opponent claiming the draw.

It's all very much much appreciated Wanmokewan! Thanks guys, You are amazing. I was under the weather! Appreciate it.
I am wondering if any of you guys is experiencing this? First of all, almost each time I play a better opponent, on average +/- 200 elo above mine and I start winning or leading the game by any means, time, points, or checkmate in X moves, it starts buffering and loading until I lose or log off unintentionally. I once even beat an opponent of 1926 elo in live chess and until today it is not in my statistics of live chess profile. Now, I know that nothing is perfect, but today in “live chess” some kind of a glitch happened again in my game against a very good opponent. If you are like me and you are investing yourself in each game of chess, this should concern you. I am a basic member here but this does not make me want to become a diamond member or anything if this happens. Who knows maybe that’s the idea? I was playing for a draw but it didn’t allow me, at move 44.
game at move 44.
The rule for threefold repetition is:
The same board position has occurred three times with the same player to move and all pieces having the same rights to move, including the right to castle or capture en passant. At one time, if a player was able to check the opposing king continually (perpetual check) and the player indicated their intention to do so, the game was drawn. This rule is no longer in effect; however, players will usually agree to a draw in such a situation, since either the rule on threefold repetition or the fifty-move rule will eventually be applicable. The threefold repetition rule (also known as repetition of position) states that a player can claim a draw if the same position occurs three times, or will occur after their next move, with the same player to move. The repeated positions do not need to occur in succession. The idea behind the rule is that if the position is repeated three times, no progress is being made.
I was going for a draw, and usually this works here in “live chess” but not for me, not today…What is going on with “live chess”? Are we playing according to the rules here?
Here is my game of today, when the threefold repetition didn’t work in “live chess” so I went on desperately to lose my game because of glitch when I saw that after threefold repetition nothing was happening, the game simply went on… After move 45.
