what should i do to quit from the tournament and join another?

Go to My upcoming tournaments, and click on the tournament you entered.
Ont the top right hand of the tournament window is a little box, click withdraw.
yes i know that but i was just asking because maybe i will lose by resignation (the upcoming matches)

No, when you withdraw from a tournament that's not yet started, you don't lose any games nor points.
You can only sign up for 1 tournament at a time, that's why you can't sign up for other tournaments while waiting for that one to start.

I do not think that applies to Platinum memberships. Or am I wrong?

You are correct, I forgot to mention that premium members can participate in more than 1 tournament. Actually, basic members can join official chess com tournaments + a non-official chess com tournament. So they can actually have more than 1 tournament going at a time. Anyways, you can see the details here:
