You can find out more about the rating system used here at:

chess.com uses the Glicko Rating system, a bit more complicated than a simple ELO system, as it also factors in frequency of play.
just yesterday, i was still unrated player.. i won a game by checkmate and suddenly i have a rating of 1385.. then one of my opponent resigned and my rating jumped up from 1385 to 1477..
its a good thing that my rating reached this high but i'm just a little confused.. how is the rating calculated here?
thanks in advance for someone who could clarify..
