Yes, use Firefox and Adblock Plus. IE8 just can't keep up the coolness of Firefox.

I've had the same problem as the original poster. Don't have a screen shot - I'll get one the next time it happens. Given how it locks up the whole browser window, I'm not sure if the "report ad" link would even work... haven't tried it.

You know, I've actually used the trick of putting known ad sites in my own hosts file manually for a while. I never knew there was a site that listed most of the common ones this way, though I probably should have guessed that someone would make one and gone looking for it. Thanks for the link!
