How do you insert Images into the about me?

Just like you do here. You click on the image icon. 

So click edit your profile and you get the following

Notice the icons at the top? The first one on the left is a chessboard; that is how you insert a chess game or position. The one next to that is the image icon. Click that and you can insert you image.

I don't have the picture icon come up

There are some options that are not available unless you have premium (or previously had premium I think).

It's possible that's one of them, though I'm not sure.
