You might be able to do it in v3 using a custom FEN starting position. That is the only way I can think of.

I have been playing with my brother for a while now, but he is about 300+ lower rated, and always loses. He is getting frustrated and I would like to try pawn or knight odds to make it a bit more enjoyable for him as he learns. How can you set odds up before starting a game?
