What do you mean by "contribution"? Is it one thing that you write? Do you get points only for writing, but also for winning games, winning vote chess games etc.?
You want virtual trophies or real ones?
I know a guy in Chicago that has extra points in his trunk...
I know a guy in Madrid who kills for extra points...
i dont know what the point is for.... LOL...
now I have 400 points nearly. will this points add to that 1000 points?

I think that it is rather unfair to give a point for every post one makes, however silly, and then no points for successful referrals and no points for welcome games

yea
some are worth more than others. the kinds of contributions that are more meaningful (articles, etc) are worth more.
at 1,000 points i get you a free t-shirt (as long as they are not achieved through spammy methods)
UPDATE => Nov 11 2008 - we do NOT give out free shirts anymore (we did this for a few weeks and stopped in 2007).
that is a pity, really
