Whats a pencil ?
It's what antiquated geezers like me used to write with before PCs, MACs, word processors and and the Internet were invented. We also used an archaic machine called a "typewriter" which I suppose many kids nowadays would be hard-pressed to identify or describe. I always wanted an IBM selectric (typewriter) eons ago but by the time I got one it had already been made obsolete by "word processors" (typewriters with an LCD display and a few PC features).
Our whole economy is based on planned obsolescence, and anyone who can read without moving his lips should know it by now. Brooks Stevens

Not that far away…1950 . . .half a century ago-
I have some engineering plans drawn with pencils. . . and, for sure, many today´s CAD drawings would envy them.
You sharpened the pencil (better with a Gillete shaving blade) according to the width of the line. You had 13 types of graffite in the pencils, from "Hard" (H) to "Soft".(B) . . the Hard been such. that you could cut cardboard as if you were using a knife.
Yeap. . . believe or not
And about the PCs (170) ¡How happy we were when the first 10 Mb HD came into life. . . that was the "non plus ultra". . .!
Old man river. . .
