How to deal with ipad glitch not connecting

I always play games on my IPad, and suddenly the site is just idling (shifting squares) and not connecting. I figured Chess.com was temporarily unavailable, but I have not been able to connect now for two days. I have no problem connecting on my laptop. My IPad settings look fine. Any idea what i can do to fix this?

What is the app version.

My IPad is version 15.8.2

Are you playing via app or website? If the app, what's the app version?

I am playing via the chess.com app. I don't know how to find the version. In the settings I went to the app but don't see a version number.

Aha, I did find the version. It is 4.2.0

You should try and update the app. Version 4.2.3 which is newer is ending support on June 1st so your version likely is no longer supported.

Would I lose all my stats and game reviews if I update to a new version?

All data is stored on the site so that will remain. If you had to completely uninstall and reinstall you might lose local only app settings and have to set those back but that's all
