HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  That, my friend is the funniest thing I've read in a long time and I'm not writing 'lol' for the sake of it, it actually caused real tears from laughing so hard at it !!

Chess ?? whats that? haven't played that in ages ;)  attempted more like. I spent so much time working it didn't leave time to study so I randomly moved around the board till I finally realized just how badly I'd messed up the game and resigned. Not fair to my opponents I know, so I stopped playing. Now I play kids all day but still work more now my shoulder has fully healed.

Ya know, a long long time ago when I first got to meet some of the team, one person I met was David Pruess, he said to me 'wow Jules, I never realized you laughed so much, I thought when I met you in person you'd be all like work work work, but you've done nothing but laugh since you got here' !

That was actually courtesy of my poor attempt at playing ping pong with one of our senior programmers Jon showing me his new ping pong stance, I laughed so hard I cried to the point I literally couldn't breathe, I had the paddle over my face hiding the fact I was crying so hard from laughing, I just couldn't stop every time he did it.

So while many on here think of me as being serious, not having a sense of humor, I've spent more time than most know laughing hysterically at some of the things posted in here, I've had to stop reading some threads because I couldn't concentrate to work i couldn't stop laughing so hard.

Its just that so few of you have ever seen this side of me so when you do, it comes across as dementia hahaha ..  I think almost losing my husband to heart attack recently kinda gave me a new outlook on life and I laugh at things a lot more now than I used too.

Pulpofeira

Apparently, to be funny and nice in these forums.

josiah777

A Staff member admiting she laughs at a lot of the things we say.

josiah777

And yea, Pulpo is right.

josiah I've been a member of the site over 7 years, in that time there have been some funny threads posted that were meant to be humorous, those are the ones I found funny.

There are and have been a lot of members on the site with an excellent sense of humor that often posted in here. Quite a few aren't here any more which is a shame, but some still are and still post on occassion.

The threads I refer too are all in Off Topics posted over the last 7 years

Yea I've stumbled across a few of those........ some of them were so funny I was left chuckling for hours.

SOMEONE LEFT ME A STACK OF MONEY?!

kohai

Sadly wishful thinking, they just want you to reply to the email so they know someone is on the other end before they spam the life out of your email inbox.

Money for real would be nice though - what would you ask first ?

whose it from ? or how much? or what should i spend it on ?

So I'm wierd. Believe me. I'm funnier in real life.

Sadly over the recent months the meds I was on affected my temperament, made me tired very quickly, the level of pain I was in - which I now know was from the fact my chest bicep was so badly severed it was hanging on my two threads .. I just wasn't myself at all. I didn't see it, but my closest and long time friend Piotr (live chess programmer on here) did see the difference in me and brought it to my attention. I then approached with Erik and Danny about it,(in all honesty, theres no way I couldn't 'not' tell them this' ..  they had noticed similar but hadn't mentioned it.  Thats the real reason it was agreed between Erik and I that I step down as site manager, support manager what ever my role was, and take a more lighter load role over on chesskid.com. I was going to return here post recovery, but in all fairness no-one can honestly expect Erik to wait that long leaving my role empty and my work load undone for an unknown amount of time, so he did what was needed and shared my role around the team, also employing a couple of new staff for the higher up ladder roles i did. No-one can expect him to suddenly take those roles off the others now after they've been doing it for months just so he can hand it back to me, more so as I've only just reached a stage where my shoulder feels 98% pain free, I still get some twinges in it, but my role now is on chesskid, and I'm not sure i'd actually be able to manage this site (given its size) and chesskid (as its growing very rapidly) both at the same time. I can multi-task and get a huge amount done in one day on my own, but even I'm not "that" good ;)

Thats why I'm here for short periods and have chats like these in here (I enjoy my time in here with you all :D ) then have to say the 'goodbye' when i go work on the other site.  I haven't left chess.com itself, I'm still a member here and still help out with some things on occassion so I'll still be around, but this time i'll have more time in here for a laugh rather than me in 'work mode' all the time, and "having" to be serious and diplomatic.

By the way, I do have another account where it doesn't have a staff icon on it, which means I can let my hair down and have a laugh in here without the diplomacy, means i can be myself instead of 'on behalf of chess.com' mode.  The username is called  dax
