How to run a pair of tournaments?

Chess Staff launch their torneys professionally.  Can i also do same?

e.g Running 2 tournaments in tandem.  Under & over 1500 ranking.  Is there an automated way to ensure that big guys end up in the over 1500s & visa versa??  some may enter when they are e.g. 1490 but by starting day they are 1555.  Does the server shuffle them into the correct torney or do i need to do it manually?

Yes you can create more than one tournament at the same time, difference between member created and official is that members are limited to 100 players per tournament.

If a player is rated 1750 (for example) when he joins a 1601 - 1800 tournament, then while waiting for the tournament to start, wins some of his standard games, his ratings increases and possibly goes above 1800. Its up to the tournament director to remove anyone outside of the ratings bracket before the tournament begins.

If its an official Chess.com tournament, he should be automatically be moved to the correct rating bracket group before it begins.

If playerOne enters the under 1500 but by start day his ranking is e.g. 1555.  So I, the TD removes him.  Can i then add him to the over 1500 torney or does he just 'miss out'??

Well, the way most people do it, is they use the published USCF (or whatever country you're in, presumably, but I can only speak for the U.S.).

The published ratings come out every month, so it is concievable that I lost a bunch of games at the end of November, sign up for a tournament at the end of December in a low rating bracket, but then win a bunch before that tournament so my current rating is above the bracket. But since my official rating is still whatever low number it was in the official report before the tournament started, I am completely eligible for the lower bracket.

BUT I know TD's that have also just done a straight categorization by their current rating. But if that's the case, you need to divide the brackets ON THE DAY of the tournament. That way there's no confusion about which bracket you used to belong in, but you are in now. Most TD's that do it that way organize small, local tournaments . . . I've never seen a large tournament run that way.

You remove him yes, you will see a white X in a red circle by the username of each person who has entered your tournament (on the tournament you create). You click the X and it removes them. You can, if you have already created one higher contact the member and ask if they want to join the other one.

Another 2 questions if i may.  Say we make each group 50 limited.

If group A only gets 40 contestants can I lock the torney & start (like a group match) or must I find 50 players?

If group B has a 50 player limit can I adjust its size while enrolment is still open to allow more players?

By Kohai's comment, I'm guessing you're doing this with chess.com? I'm not sure how that works. But you can do whatever you want, live.

About the sections: my local tournaments are usually set with a limit of some multiple of 32. The 2 top sections (16 players each, 4 rounds) are divided based simply on rating ( so you could have 15, 1700s and 1, 1526, then the next section might go from 1524-1300). Then the rest of the sections fill in (32 people each, 5 rounds on shorter time). So if a rating changes, just move someone up  bracket, and move another person down a bracket.

It's more fluid if you just say that the top half goes in tournament A, and the bottom in tournament B. You might want to adjust is a little if there is  a very clear rating gap, but if it's so close that 20 or 30 points change makes a difference, I think it would just be simpler to divide by ratings relative to the other players, rather than some set standard.

Before the tournament begins, if you want to start it at 40 (and not wait for the remaining 10 to join) you simply go in and start manually. You can edit the tournament settings at any time prior to the tournament starting
