Knight and king can't checkmate a lone king, but when there are other pieces on the board, it is possible to checkmate with knight and king. You can't force it, but it is possible because your own pieces can occupy escape squares for the king.

I did not post it so you can comment on me playing. I posted this game so i can understand something. i had 0.5 secs for the last move and i decided to take out his pawn to leave him with a king and knight so that i wouldn't "lose" on time but only get a draw because of insufficient material. As far as i know there is no way to checkmate with a knight and lone king. Can someone please explain.
P.S this is live chess and i didnt post it so you can comment about my silly playstyle.
