was wondering how new Rules to  safety act here in the UK will effect UK users of the site in terms of the ability to join Groups post ect..

will we need to use face scan to prove that an adult controls account? just wondering as X and other sites have been affected by this.

I'm not familiar with the UK law or it's requirements but if a member is under 13 they're not supposed to have an account without parental permission and when staff are aware of such an account, they have a form that's required to be completed.

Xbox Playstaion and other sites like X youtube basically any site that has members under 18 will be required by Law to subject all members to either submit a face scan in order for AI to know if the person using the account is 18 or old other methods will include a credit card check. where AI is not Available Because chess.com allows for fourm post and groups ect.. it maybe force under UK Law to change its user agreement or face up to 10% of loss of income in fines if they do not uphold this law.

I'm sure staff are aware of the legislation, though can't say how it will be handled.

Though the TOS will likely include such information when applicable.

The User Agreement says:

"To enter into this Agreement, use the Services, and/or create an account with us, you must be at least 13 years of age. If you are not of legal age in your jurisdiction -- but are at least 13 years of age - then your parent or legal guardian must consent to this Agreement on your behalf prior to your use of the Services and you may only use the Services with the consent and involvement of your parent or legal guardian"

which means that any user here must be at least 13, the parental permission is needed for users between 13 and the legal age

The user would have to be at least 18 in the eyes of UK law if this site at least in the UK falls under the new regulations of the Safety Act. so it may me the Chess.com main site becomes adult only and all the kids below 18 have to use chess kids. com

The site wouldn't need to become 18+

UK law only applies to the UK, so the site could just limit any UK accounts and force some kind of verification. Not sure what might be done ultimately but my guess is that staff are aware.
