I am pretty angry. Falsely "losing" due to "abandoning" the game (the site was glitching out).

Twice today, I've suffered a website glitch which left the page hanging, resulting in me losing the game because it thought I abandoned the page. I emailed support at Chess.com, but I got an automated email as a response which read "Use our garbage AI chatbot on the website instead!" (paraphrasing). I asked the AI chatbot if it could void the games that I lost on a technicality, and the chatbot got confused. I can confirm it was the Chess.com web page itself which was at fault because I refreshed the other tabs I had open without issue while Chess.com was spazzing out. So now I've got two abandonments on my profile, and I do not want to be known as someone who abandons games. I'm actually pretty adamant about that. Is there any way I can petition to change the result of those games or void them completely? This is maddening.

The latter abandonment stung really badly because the site started bugging out while I was in a completely winning position against someone with a much higher ELO.

What other tabs did you have open & why?

Generally speaking the site doe not refund points lost to connection issues unless there is a site wide issue. As far as I'm aware, there wasn't any site wide issue today.

Its always possible there can be an issue between you and the site, even when other sites are working.
