The chat in tournaments is disabled too, there is just a question mark which leads to https://support.chess.com/en/articles/8557339-why-can-t-i-chat-or-post-in-forums-or-change-my-avatar. I followed the instructions there. But no chat.

Further, it shows the German flag for my name when I play, but my setting is European Union.
Okay, that with the EU is now fixed, seems to have been a cache thing.
The chat when observing games is actually like this: First there is something like "send a message", then, as soon as I send a message, it switches to "chat disabled". Then I can not chat anymore.

It seems that I have to wait 48 hours, as this forum post suggests, though this support article does not mention that rule. So I will just wait a bit.
I am new. I have activated my account, I have enabled chat in the settings. Can not chat anywhere, not in game chats, not in Tournament chats.
I am not sure if I was muted by chess.com. Someone in the chat of a game said "That's gay" and I wrote "What is gay?". But I am not sure if the chat was already disabled or not.
Can someone from the support take a look at this?
