It looks that you've changed something today Jay, since your site loads very well (faster than usual for me).
Intermittent connection issue affecting all site areas

I've been having regular connection issues as well. I use the app on ipad. I can get to all other sites fine. But I've even lost games due to abandoning them because of connection issues. Also, with the app a lot of times it doesn't actually submit my move to the server when I hit submit. The the only reason I can tell is because every time it updates with the server my time ticks down more, even when it's showing that it's my opponent's turn. I have to exit the app, and go back in. It usually reconnects to the game I was playing, but sometimes it just disappears. I'm guessing my opponents wonder a lot of times what's taking me longer than normal.

I guess they're still having the same issues 4 yrs later :) I just did a search on here to see if anyone else was having problems. I didn't see how old it was.

Well, Java is very problematic. But I'm pretty sure I'm not currently having any issues with that. Thanks for asking.

As the OP, I was quite surprised to see this thread pop up again! The problems that most users have reported don't seem to be related to my original problem at all, so I would really advise you start a new thread to optimize your chances of getting a resolution.
In my case, in case anyone has actually bothered to read that far back, the problem was definitely caused by AVG. I ended up uninstalling AVG and installing VIPRE instead and I have never had a problem again.
im afraid its the the chess.com servers that cant cope.simple as.
Thats my feeling. I normally experience these similar problems during peak internet times (just after 6ish GMT). As a night shift worker most of my playing time is in the early hours of the morning either when I get home from work (9am) or late on a weekend (its midnight now) and I don't normally have any issues. By the way I don't often get peak time internet slowdown on other sites that I use even when streaming video etc. I just assumed that it was the popularity of chess.com.
