I have an ipad 3. I log into chess.com with my diamond membership and it works great for live chess, tactics trainer, chess mentor and the video lessons. However, it does not support the tvchess option and the puzzle of the day. I know that ipad does not support Flash and that might be the reason. The ipad 3 also has wifi and I bought the 4g model that allows me to sign up month to month if I want connectivity - although I have not done this yet, I like this option. This connectivity is something the Fire does not have. The ipad cost nearly $900 so I am asking anyone out there that uses Fire to please review and provide feedback about the compatibility with the chess.com site. The Fire is $200 and if it works as well, I might return the ipad. I only really want a tablet for chess. email and news. Maybe some music in the background.
So my questions are mainly:
1 - does the Fire support the tactics trainer, chess mentor, live chess, video lessons and what about tvchess?
2 - Is the screen large enough or is it restricting making the experience frustrating?
3 - How is the "touch" aspect of the design? Is it well integrated with chess.com on the Fire? With the ipad, the funtionality to tap the little green dots on the screen to accept a game for example is great. The ipad seems well designed with this touch aspect. Is the Fire limited in this regard or can you just enlarge the screen when you need to? Leading to the next quesion...
4 - Can you enlarge and shrink the screen size on the Fire? Can you tilt the device to go horizontal and portrait? Does it do a good job with this? The ipad works great in this regard.
5 - anything else you can add for Fire use, experience, advice?
Much appreciated!
