Is there a way to enable 2-factor identification for logging in?

Things like email and other stuff have 2-factor authentication in addition to a password in order to provide account security. Is there a way for me to enable this on chess.com too?

I mean, if the site wanted to do it, they probably could. It just isn't something available here.

I don't know why something like that has never been implemented. Though, a chess website is  pretty low risk, so that might play into it.

You could always suggest it as a feature in the main menu.

Two factor authentication is not a difficult feature to implement. I frequently play at an Internet cafe and do not feel comfortable entering my credentials into machines that are used by the general public (I play using another service that does offer two factor authentication, but I was unhappy there and decided to try chess.com). It doesn’t matter what the source site is. I don’t want other people to have access to my accounts. 

I recently became a gold member, and this is a dealbreaker for me. It’s 2020, how is this feature not implemented on one of the most prominent chess sites on the internet. Your developers, product owners / product managers ought to be ashamed. 

@erik has posted about it in the beta club and says the site won't be adding two-factor for members.

To be honest with you, unless you're someone like Elon Musk or someone else important like Levy or Hikaru, no one's trying to get your Chess.com or Lichess information.

i had another account , i woke up a found out that it was stolen and even the pfp is changed and my friends were removed etc

Hi

I am a chess coach and some has hacked my account two times in the last month. I am trying to do 2FA login but no idea how to do it. Can anyone help with this. I have been blocked by 15 people and no idea why lol. It is crazy, and 3 of them were students that I was supposed to do a first lesson with. If anyone knows what to do please help me.

I answered in your other post but it's not an option.

Unfortunately, I don't think chess.com considers this site serious enough to implement 2FA (and to be honest, I kind of agree with them, it's just a gaming site). If your account keeps getting hacked, you've either got malware on your computer or your passwords are weak. I suspect it's probably just a weak password if the hacker is only going after your chess.com account and not your bank account.

Do these two things:

1. Scan your computer for malware or wipe and reinstall your operating system.

2. Get yourself a password manager and use a super long randomized password with chess.com
