This issue is off and on VERY bad for me. just had a game where I essentially lost 4 moves because of it. Does anyone else have an issue with this?

Maybe use click move instead? Click the piece then the square your moving to.

I mostly play on my phone and most of the time drag move works fine but sometimes I'll overshoot a little.

Thats a good idea, Ill change that in my settings

Both move methods still will work, it just changes the behavior if the pieces when you click.

In all seriousness, if u really like to drag, make sure the mouse is fully connected to ur pc

My mouse is really slow and gets ‘stuck’ sometimes because the wires have slipped our something.

oh, this has happened to me with my old mouse. It is mainly because your mouse is too sensitive to small clicks, even when you don't actually click, but make a small movement.

I’m playing on my iPad and find it frustrating that the piece will move to a different square on releasing my finger. What is a solution?

This happens to me ALL of the time. They have issues with their programming. It's not the end user. Frustrating as can be.

This was a big problem for me but there's an easy fix, if you're using Chrome. Go to the Chrome store, then find and and install the extension "mcChess.com". The "mc" stamds for "move confirmation". Then, everytime you make a move, you confirm it or take it back.

That solution only works for slow games. If you are playing a game with fast time-controls, the time it takes you to confirm each move gives your opponent a significant advantage.
This problem has been plaguing my games for the past couple of weeks. It's not the mouse, as I use it for other things that require drag and drop operations or hold and press. It only seems to happen on chess.com. My most recent game is a good example of this. It messed up 1. a castle where it dropped my king on the wrong square. 2. a queen move where it had me throw away a queen for a pawn when I was trying to move it to another square.
I play 3 minute games and sometimes bullet-chess, so the time it would take to confirm each move would cost me dearly.
