It's just that Chess.com needs to send you an email to activate your account (before that, you can't change your background or profile picture).
Issue With Verified Alt Account
I recently opened an alt account on Chess.com and got it verified with at title. I wanted to change it's background via the upload background feature in the themes tab, but Chess.com doesn't let me perform this action. It may be the fact that the alt account is considered to be "muted," but I am able to change the background of the account on a mobile device. Sadly this change doesn't register on my computer and I am stuck without a custom background.
Is there any clear reason for why this is happening and if so, is there anyway I can upload it?
Backgrounds in the app are local to the app. You can contact support about it and see if there is anything they can help with
