Anyone had any luck with this? Kohai, the site really should fix this. We shouldn't have to deal with work-arounds to play the site's applications. We've had no definitive explanations provided by the site, except that "they are working on it." This has been going on for a long time. When I originally couldn't play the computer using internet explorer, you said to use chrome. I hated doing it, but I downloaded chrome. I played okay for a while, and now that doesn't even work.

Well, they did get something fixed. My problem was that I couldn't use computer workout and that is now working. I thought that's what this thread was about because I was directed here from another thread.
I see by this thread title that it has to do with java in general. One problem that exists with java is fixable by signing the java executable. I'm pretty sure that has been reported elsewhere. The java "Try Vs Computer" works for me but I had to lower my java security settings to make it work.

We are looking into it yes, we are looking at ways to get this fixed so the Java issue will be resolved. Erik is aware of the problems its causing and is taking it very seriously

if your java is working, chess against computer pieces are not moved like in live chess by clicking, you have to hold on to the click at the same time as moving the piece and not let go until piece is moved.
Why after three weeks is this problem still not fixed? I notice chess.com is still able to bill me for my membership but not able to provide the services they used to. Are there other online chess sites that are more reliable?

Wow so it isn't just me who's having this problem. 3 weeks? It's been down for 3 weeks and still hasn't been fixed? Come on...
Erik replied in another thread that chess.com's resources are being poured into V3 the all new and 100x times better version coming soon to a computer near you. I'm just the messenger...

i know this is an issue. i'm sorry. there are LOTS of issues. software is messy. so we have 2 choices: we either fix all of these tiny bugs and never make progress forward, or we stay focused on the 100% new, 100x more amazing chess.com we are working on...

go to your java installation
Configure your java security level to the lowest possible (medium).
I'm using the latest version of java and play using google chrome.

Why is it i can no longer view my game history?This is a rhetorical question. For some reason I'm only allowed to view one-game and then everything freezes up and I can't see any more game history. I don't post this on the forum for any answers forums really don't give answers. forums are wasted time. forums are merely way to express your displeasure about something that I'll never get solved.
So is there no plan to ever fix this? Have they said anything about it?

What about on OSX systems? It was working fine before.

If you download Java 7, you will not be able to run Java content in Chrome on Mac OS X and will need to use a 64-bit browser (such as Safari or Firefox) to run Java content within a browser.

Update: Nope, Safari doesn't work either even after updating.
You have the same OS/OSX as me. I managed to get it working on OSX by going into System Settings, opening Java Control Panel and lowering the security on that, I did have to refresh a few times but the board finally showed and now continues to show.
For Windows, I have the same as you, 32 & 64 bit windows. Java just hates my operating system and no matter how many times I tried, or how many times I got an alert saying 'Java Update ready', I'd either be told 'you already have the latest' and the board was still asking me on 'vs' computer' to update Java, or it just failed to load at all. Infuriating? Yes! very..
I didn't have the latest Java, so didn't see the option to lower the security on it, so I updated that via the Java.com site, went into the control panel and opened the settints, so now I see this http://grab.by/u4zq
Once its done, I went onto 'vs computer', and I get this http://grab.by/u4zC
Clicking on 'Activate Java' shows me a small box, changing the setting on the drop down from Block Plugin to Allow & Remember works, I get a box up asking if I want to 'Run - Cancel' after clicking 'Run' the board on vs computer works each time.
