King captures opponents pieces

Hi. I've seen this happening more than once and SOMETIMES it happens to me aswell. Sometimes the king captures some opponents pieces and some not. So wich ones, how and why?

Do you have some specific examples you are looking at?

I assume you mean generically and if so then the King can capture any piece (not including another King) as long as that capture does not leave or place the King in check.
