Why is the search for local chess clubs function so inaccurate? I tried searching for chess clubs withing 10 miles, and it came up with 2 results. The thing is, they're both in Bristol, which is more than 10 miles from where I am.
Also, why can't I see anyone (even myself) on the interactive map? These are in both Firefox and IE.
The Interactive Map seems to be working now I'm a Gold member. But for some reason, it thinks I'm in Slough Ln, Chippenham, and not the Slough in Berkshire. Does anyone know why this might be?
I think it is because it reads your IP address, which does not necessarily correlate with your geographical address.
Maybe someone who knows more about tech stuff can chime in.
Fortunately, I know quite a lot about tech stuff. I just think it's too much of a coincidence for it to just happen to think I'm somewhere that has a similar name to, but a different place to where I actually am.
Well, that was my best guess. Sorry I couldn't help more.
I've just tried this, and it got my location spot on, so there must be something wrong with Google Maps.
